Exploring the Creative Subconscious: Sound & Beauty

Join instructors Jaime Pellegrene, Kristen Wertenberger, Rachel Friberg at Minnetonka Center for the Arts to discover the power of sounds and meditation as you intentionally connect with your creative subconscious mind. Lie comfortably on a yoga mat or sit in a chair as you are guided through a meditation to assist you in connecting with your source of creative inspiration. Healing music will be played (singing bowls, handpan, guitar, etc) to facilitate your journey. Bring a yoga mat, bolsters, blanket, pillow, etc (to be comfortable lying on your mat for 75-90 minutes; we will have extra mats and chairs available for those who may need them). No experience with meditation is necessary! Take this opportunity to explore and expand your creative potential and expression.

January is the perfect time of year to pamper yourself, your family and your friends. The Arboretum’s Winter Wellness Fair is designed to help visitors find nourishment for the body, mind and soul all in one place. Visitors will be invited to come out for the day to shop at the Winter Wellness Market, take a yoga or meditation class, and explore the winter grounds at the Arboretum by walking, skiing or snowshoeing. Mindfulness Meditation for Stress & Pain

This hour-long class will offer a guided meditation that helps people ease chronic pain and stress symptoms by scanning the body to release tension. This can be particularly helpful for individuals with anxiety, chronic pain, or stress, as it allows them to manage negative or worrisome thoughts about pain, reduce depression and anxiety symptoms, and improve overall well-being.
